WINDOOR EMPURIABRAVA was inaugurated in November 2012. It was the first vertical wind tunnel open to the public in Spain and one of the first in Europe.

It is built with technology from STROJIRNA LITVINOV (Czech Republic), featuring a design that allows for the best sensations in freefall simulation. It’s a safe and efficient technology. It is the only tunnel in the world equipped with an air cooling filtration system, resulting in a cleaner airflow.

Equipped with 4 large fans powered by ABB motors with a maximum consumption of 350 kW each, WINDOOR Empuriabrava is the first tunnel in Europe to use 100% renewable energy for its operation, making it the only one with a completely neutral ecological footprint.

With a glazed height of 5.5 meters and a diameter of 4.3 meters, it is ideal for practicing all disciplines that are practiced in freefall as well as those that have emerged in the field of vertical wind tunnels.

We are proud of our impact on the sport, as in 2014 we founded the international competition ‘The WindGames,’ which continues to thrill competitors and spectators until its last celebration in 2024.
